Since it is the 40th anniversary of the famous Woodstock Festival, winemaker Mark Beaman was excited to revisit the legend that the event is and draw upon it. The music of Woodstock celebrates community, individual expression, and breaking with the past. Inspired by this message, Winemaker Mark Beaman created a naked style Chardonnay. Unlike other regions which grow more muted flavoured Chardonnays (which are then dressed up with oak and malolactic fermentation), Woodstock Chardonnay is an expression of pure fruit character and the land it was grown on.
The Woodstock Chardonnay opens with an enjoyable eclectic mixture of rich pear, mineral, and papaya aromas followed by fresh flavours of Asian pear apple, citrus, and tropical fruit with great acid on the finish. Or as Mark likes to say, sunshine in a bottle. Enjoy this rich dry white wine with salmon, chicken, creamy soups, and white sauced pasta.
