The Mcpherson Family Series Chardonnay is expressive of one of the archetypical tales of family; ‘the wayward child.’ In historical, biblical and literary studies, stories of disgruntled parents, as their children reject their wisdom and take a different path, are incredibly prevalent and Catriona, the namesake of this wine, is another to follow in this tradition. So, what did Catriona do? Did she leave and spend her inheritance hedonistically like the prodigal son? Did she reject mainstream society and head to the hills like Christopher McCandless from ‘Into the Wild’? Nope, the youngest daughter in the McPherson clan rebelled against family tradition and became a lawyer. Now married with three children, Catriona juggles family life and corporate law, and on the weekends heads to the vineyard to relax with family and her favourite Chardonnay; a fresh, fruit driven wine displaying aromas of tropical fruits and peaches with just a hint of lightly toasted oak. If only every parent could have a wayward child like her!
