Dominated by Grenache, this beautiful vintage has a powerful nose with humus and kirsch aromas which is surprising for a wine of its age. Spicy notes and soft tannins provide a silky impression in the mouth to finish.
Clos Saint André is owned by the Deville-Jouffron family, an old family from Châ:teauneuf du Pape who have been making wine since the 16th Century. Part of the 30 acres of vines and the old underground cellar are right in the centre of the town. From there, the winemaker Alain Deville takes care and ages old bottles like this.
